Moffat Speaks at Gallifrey 2013

According to the this Geeks of Doom interview with Moffat, there may be more that one 50th Anniversary special!  I hope he means actual Doctor Who storyline and not some historical retrospective about the making of the show…  I’m sure all the “Making of” shows will be interesting and all but I was hoping for the rest of Series 7 to lead into a full Series 8 for 2013…  So if we’re not getting a full series this year then I’m hoping for as much new (quality) Who as possible!  What do you guys think?

Ruroni Kenshin, Live Action!

OK, this looks super sweet! There were several scenes that looked like they were straight from the anime and several of the characters were very recognizable. It’s hard to tell from just this but the plot appeared to have been a mash-up of several story lines. In any case, this looks visually stunning and as long as the story and characters are reasonable I’ll love it! What do you guys think? I for one can’t wait…

Valve’s Steam on Linux

It’s official, Steam is coming to Linux!  Project Steam’d Penguins is the first blog post in Valve’s Linux blog.  It explains that Valve is already working on porting Steam and Left 4 Dead 2 to Linux by way of Ubuntu!  Ubuntu being a common as well as popular Linux distro makes it the perfect platform for the launch of the Valve’s new Linux projects!  They also appear to have other games in the works for the port to Linux!  This is great news and I can’t wait! What do you all think?

Sonic Screwdriver TV Remote

Need a new remote, always wanted a sonic screwdriver? Why not get both in one?!? More on that (and maybe a video too) after the jump!

It’s hand-polished, copper-plated, die-cast metal which makes it a pretty slick-looking little device. It’s a gesture based universal TV remote that looks like the Doctor’s sonic and sounds like it too! They’re not quite available yet but they’ll have them at in September (2012-09-01) so head on over and add it to your wish list, now! If you’re still not convinced watch this video first!

Proper 3-D TV coming soon?

Do you like the idea of 3-D TV and movies but they hurt your eyes or you hate wearing special glasses?  Well “proper” 3-D may be coming sooner than you think!  Some very smart people at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) are working on it right now.

Looper

Wow!  Drama, chase scenes, love interests, time travel, paradox and Bruce Willis this movie has it all.  Thirty years from now time travel will be invented.  Loopers work for the criminal underground of the future, eliminating future problems by killing them in the past.  But what do you do when they one to kill is your own future self!?!  What issues does this bring up, has the older one already done all this or can the future be changed.  As the current version interacts with the future version the ten rises and the paradox builds.  I like to see this movie since I’m sure it will be a fun action-adventure romp but more importantly I can’t wait to examine yet another Hollywood treatment of time travel and see what they come up with!  What do you all think?

Congrats Ponds on 2nd wedding anniversary!

I jest, of course, it’s not really the “Ponds” but the Williams.  Join me in wishing Rory and Amy a happy two years of marriage!

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter: The Review

Golly, where to start…  I should probably tell you what my expectations were and I can best do that by starting with what they weren’t.  More after the break…
